Das TCS3200 Farb Sensor Modul verfügt über eine lichtempfindliches Diodenarray TCS230 von Taos. zur Detektion von sichtbarem Licht.

Das Diodenarray des TCS230 basiert auf einen 8×8 Array

• 16 blau
• 16 rot
• 16 grün
• 16 clear

und erfasst darüber hinaus ein Spektrum von ca. 400 bis 950 nm.

Die 4 weissen LED’s dienen zur Ausleuchtung der Messfläche.

Color Sensor Modul

Die Signalverarbeitung des TCS3200 Color Sensor Modul erfolgt mittels Frequenz. Die Signalstärke ist dabei proportional zur Lichtintensität.

Die Beschattung des GY-31 sorgt dafür, dass Lichteinfall der nicht von oben erfolgt, keine Auswirkungen auf die Erfassungen des TCS3200 hat.

Zu beachten bei TCS3200 TCS230: Der OE Pin ist werksseitig mittels R8 / 0 Ω Widerstand auf GND gebrückt, diesbezüglich vor Verwendung des OE Pins den Widerstand entfernen bzw. durch einen Wiederstand mit min. 4,7KΩ ersetzen.

The Color Sensor Module supports power supply between 2.7V to 5V. Therefore the Color Sensor Module works perfect in combination with typical MCU’s such as

The TCS3200 Color Sensor Module is based on a light sensing diode array TCS230 from Taos. The TCS230 has an 8 x 8 array of photodiodes with color filters

• 16 Red
• 16 Blue
• 16 Green
• 16 Clear

A light to frequency converter generates a 50% duty cycle square wave on the output pin. Frequency is directly proportional to light intensity. Output scaling 100%, 20% and 2% allows for wide dynamic range of intensities.

Color Sensor Module

The color selects (S2, S3), frequency scale (S0, S1) and output are TTL logic level and can be connected directly to the micro controller. Basic readings are easy using the Arduino “pulsein” command. Take a reading for each color. The reading with narrowest pulse width or highest frequency is the major color. Using advanced ratio analysis almost any color could be recognized.

The cover of the GY-31 ensures that light which does not come from above has no effect on the detection for the TCS3200.

NOTE for TCS3200 TCS230: The OE pin (Output Enable ) is grounded through R8 (0ohm), making the module enabled by default. Do not connect the OE to the micro controller, unless R8 is removed or changed to 4.7K or greater.
